family wisdom
We have a saying in our family: don't buy it if you can't drive it.
I repeated this to myself again this morning, watching another SUV do a 19-point turn to get into a parking spot that could hold a Winnebago.
I have nothing against SUVs. I have a lot against people that operate their vehicles in ways that endanger or dramatically inconvenience others. I also have a big problem with people that operate their vehicles in ways that endanger themselves.
My sister-in-law is an EMT and my brother-in-law is a cop. If you want to risk the consequences of hurling a 3-ton piece of steel down the road at 90 mph, in theory, it's your perogative. But remember, someone has to clean up your selfish, dangerous mess when you can't handle it.
